I have met a lot of very nice people and organizations along the way and would like to share them with you. Please check out the following links to some of them:
My absolute, most favorite animal society is Best Friends Animal Society in Kanab, Utah. Best Friends Animal Society is guided by a simple philosophy: kindness to animals builds a better world for all of us. In the late 1980's, when Best Friends was in its early days, roughly 17 million dogs and cats were being killed in shelters every year. Despite the commitment of shelter workers to the animal in their care, the conventional belief was that little could be done to lower that terrible number.
Best Friends' No More Homeless Pets campaign created a new vision A grassroots effort to place dogs and cats who were considered "unadoptable" into good homes, and to reduce the number of unwanted pets through effective spay and neuter programs. Since then, the number of dogs and cats being destroyed in shelters has fallen to approximately 5 million a year.
The work of Best Friends is supported entirely by the donations of their members.
Most of the animals who find their way to Best Friends have special physical or behavioral needs, and the Best Friends expert staff of veterinarians, trainers and caregivers offer them all the help they require. Most of them are ready to go to good new homes after just a few weeks of special care. A few, who are too old or too sick, or who have suffered extra trauma, find a home and haven at the sanctuary, and are given loving care for the rest of their lives.
I proudly donate a portion of my monthly sales to Best Friends Animal Society.
Josie, a/k/a Jopie, Jo, Jo-Jo, Jopie-Jo, Jo-Jo-Bee ... my loveable, huggable mutt from the Humane Society.
I have a soft spot in my heart for the Humane Society since that is where we found our dog, Josie when she was just a little pup. I adore my Jo-Jo-Bee. I am also a member of the Humane Society of the United States and donate as much as I can.
If you live in the greater Seattle area and are searching for a top notch pet photographer, I would definitely recommend Marjorie Mason. She will come to your home to photograph your 4-legged best friends and offers several different price packages. She really has a keen eye for photographing pets and I can personally attest to her talent as she recently photographed our two dogs. Some of my favorites are seen below.
Meet Lorenzo The Cat. You've got to check out this awesome website: http://www.lorenzothecat.com. I guarantee you haven't seen anything like it before. Lorenzo is a very unique cat who loves to wear clothes and model in front of the camera. You've got to see it to belive it! Very entertaining.
If you are looking for a custom pet portrait watercolor, I absolutely love Ron Krajewski's work. His website is http://www.ronkrajewski.com. His work is incredible and his prices are fantastic. Here is what he did of our two dogs (I gave this to my hubby for Christmas):

people; Memorialize and celebrate your pet's life; and Move on after your loss and love again.
